The boiler has a steam production capacity of 50 tons per hour, is a water-tube, single-drum boiler with natural circulation in a U-shaped layout, designed to produce superheated steam at a temperature of 440˚C and a pressure of 3.9 MPa.
The boiler was converted to burn natural gas by installing burners in the side screen ducts and adding a refractory material pad in the cold funnel formed by the front and rear screens.
The boiler was reconstructed to enable biomass combustion. The reconstruction project includes the installation of a reverse-moving chain grate with pneumatic-gravity fuel feeding, an increase in the surface area of the second gas path stage of the superheater, reduction of the air preheater surface area, and the addition of systems for heating surface cleaning, control and protection, slag removal, and secondary and tertiary air injection.
Technical specifications of the boiler after reconstruction:
- Steam production capacity: 40 tons per hour
- Operating pressure: 3.9 MPa
- Superheated steam temperature: 440˚C
